Sunday 7th September: Trinity 12

Who knows what drama there might be at tomorrow’s services?

Many, but not all, of you will know that at last week’s 8 am service I fainted without warning while giving the address. (I thought it was a good address – but perhaps it wasn’t!)

I am grateful to those at the service who called for an ambulance and cared for me. An excellent paramedic came and assessed me and took me to Epsom hospital for checks. Fortunately I had not had a heart attack or suffered a brain injury from the fall and I could return home in the afternoon. I suppose that the combination of things that led to the faint will not be known, but the week has shown that I have had some sort of virus affecting me and after a lot of rest I have been improving, especially towards the end of the week. My thanks to Revd Sharon for stepping in to lead the 10am service at short notice, and to Laura and Ben Freeman, Norma and Bill Darter, and Emma Dixon who have brought me meals and/or walked my dog Tess, and others would have done if needed.

We are just a week away now from my final Sunday 10 o’clock service followed by the parish barbeque. Moira is coming from Devon to be with us. Do come, and bring others, to the service and to the bbq if you can.

May the Holy Spirit guide us in our church life,

Tim
