At The Good Shepherd, we proudly uphold the tradition of an English Church Choir, a legacy spanning centuries. The esteemed history of Cathedrals, Colleges and Parish Church Choirs in our country has birthed some of the world's greatest composers and musicians. This rich tradition persists at The Good Shepherd, elevating the quality of our worship. Yet, rest assured, we are anything but stuffy! Join us in embracing the harmonious blend of tradition and warmth as we create music that resonates with both heart and soul.

Join Our Choir
Our choir at The Good Shepherd is where the joy of singing meets a warm and inclusive community. Under the dynamic direction of our Music Director, Timothy Carey, our choir is evolving and expanding its repertoire.
If you're wondering whether your singing abilities match up or if auditions are looming, worry not! We're not seeking operatic soloists, and there's no need for a nerve-wracking audition. Instead, consider joining us for a taster session to explore the musical journey we embark on together. Lack of formal music reading skills can be easily compensated through regular rehearsal attendance, and our approachable conductor determines membership suitability without the choir ever reaching full capacity. Currently, we have a particular need for sopranos, so if you're inclined, consider lending your voice in this capacity.

Our weekly Adult Choir practices every Friday from 7:45 pm to 9:00 pm and we sing each week for the Sunday Eucharist. We gather at 9:35 am for a brief warm-up choir practice before the service concludes around 11:15 am. Additionally, we occasionally perform evening services about four times a year. Join us for a musical adventure and cultivate lifelong friendships along the way.

While singing in a church choir may entail some hard work, the rewards are immeasurable, and we assure you we're a friendly bunch. If you're intrigued, we would love for you to hear from you!

Junior Choir
Experience the joy of music with our Junior Choristers. They receive excellent training in singing and musicianship, finding immense pleasure in being part of our distinguished choir. Rehearsing every Friday from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, our Junior Choir welcomes new enthusiastic voices.

Undergoing revitalisation, our choir seeks young talents. Joining offers numerous benefits, honing singing skills and fostering a lifelong love for music. Our awards program with the Royal School of Church Music adds opportunities for growth and recognition.

Junior Choristers enjoy a small fee for participating in weddings, enhancing their experience. For details, grab a leaflet at the church or contact us directly. Join us on this musical journey with your child!
