As we approach the end of the calendar year I want to say ‘thank you’ to all of you who are part of the life of the Church of the Good Shepherd. Some of you have particular roles: my fellow ministers Sharon, Arthur and Anne; Tim Carey our Musical Director; Lis, Laura and Nicky our Church Explorers leaders; Antony our Churchwarden; Richard our Treasurer; Lesley our Hall Manager and PCC Secretary. Many more of you give time and energy as part of groups and activities within the life of our church: Parochial Church Council, Mothers’ Union, choir, parish lunch team, Hall committee, Social committee, pantomime team, cleaning rota, bible readers and intercessors, flower arrangers and church decorators, Jumble Sale team, Craft Fair team, churchyard working parties; Saturday Café team; building care and maintenance; and no doubt I have overlooked some groups and activities – for which apologies.
All of you contribute by your presence and together we make our church. As a new calendar year prompts us to look forward, may our church continue to grow and change under the guidance of God’s Spirit.
