Sunday 27th July: Trinity 6

Sometimes news comes unexpectedly and on Thursday evening two of her neighbours contacted me to tell me that Anita Arkley had died. They had become concerned that Anita had not been seen for two or three days and police had come to her home and found her body. Anita has been part of the church both at St Mark’s Tattenham Corner and at our church for many years. Many of you have looked out for her, given her lifts and received her cards and presents. Particular people at both of our churches have been significantly involved in supporting her over the years – I think of John Allinson for example. As we wait for the formal developments that will likely follow, may we as churches be encouraged in our life together and in our wider service by the community and friendship she has shared with us.
