Sunday 18th August: 12th Sunday after Trinity

We are blessed with a team of organists, and tomorrow Linda Morgan will be playing for us for the first time. I expect there might be a few nerves. I have lead services and given University lectures over many years but I find for myself it continues to be part of getting ready to settle the mind shortly beforehand. I suppose that is why we have music played just before the service starts and to pray to enter again into worship of God.

Otherwise today is set up day for the 1st Tadworth Scout camp and from tomorrow afternoon I will be part of the team of leaders and finding out how easy it is to get in and out of my tent.

May God bless you this week whatever you are doing,

With every blessing,

Tim

Food Bank Donations via the Church Porch

We are encouraged to continue with donations of food for the St Matthew’s Foodbank, Redhill through the summer. They tell us that donations typically decrease over the summer, meaning they are buying in some of the food that is distributed.

Update on the Church Organ Loft Repairs

The minor repair to the organ is completed and the pipes affected by the water coming in have been cleaned and the organ tuned. The wall stabilisation has been completed. We expect these repairs to be covered by the church insurers.

They have confirmed, as expected, that they will not pay for the planned improvements to the gutters to prevent a repeat. Thank you to Richard Shipman for arranging this work and to our Treasurer Richard Gollop as he negotiates with Ecclesiastical Insurance.

For our Prayers

We pray for Paul and Joan (son-in-law and daughter of the Bowyers) as Paul undergoes treatment for cancer.
