Sunday 14th September: Trinity 13

Updated: Sep 14

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose. In case you didn’t learn some French at school it means: the more things change the more they stay the same.

It comes to mind because tomorrow is my final Sunday service in Tadworth followed by the ‘goodbye Revd Tim’ parish barbeque. This is usually badged the “Welcome Back” BBQ to mark that children are back in school and we are settling into our regular pattern of church life again. Thus, both our Church Explorers group and the choir are up and running after the Summer break. The Autumn events come quickly now also (see our notices and calendar below) and look for news of the next parish social event, the Barn Dance. So, a less literal translation of that French expression might be: “vicars come and go, but church and parish life continues”.

Callum Hawker your Churchwarden will continue with these emails. I know you will support him through the vacancy and as you prepare for your next vicar.

With every blessing,

Tim
