Sponsor a trumpet pipe

The organ has always lacked purpose made Trumpet pipes which add so much vibrancy to the music at major church events,   weddings, etc.   Trumpet pipes are fundamental to dramatic pieces of music.

Now you can make your own tangible difference to the sound of the organ!

Trumpet reed pipes have a distinctive sound and are complex.  They have a large resonator which often has a hood,  and at the base enclosed within a boot,  is a brass reed which vibrates against an opening called a shallot.   They are made to exacting standards of workmanship by skilled craftsman.

The new pipes are being made by Terry Shires – a leading pipe maker based in Leeds.   Do have a look at his website -     www.shiresorganpipes  -  to appreciate the skill required in making organ pipes.

Below are photographs of Trumpet pipes in the course of manufacture.
