To make enquiries about having your child baptised, either email us at email@example.com or 'phone us on 01737 813152. We will make an appointment to visit you to discuss the service and to complete the baptism application form. Baptisms are usually held on Sundays at 12:30 pm. The service lasts for about half an hour and is free of charge, although a retiring collection is taken on behalf of the upkeep of the church. During the week before the service, the priest who is carrying out the baptism will make an appointment to come and see you to run through the service with you and to answer any questions you may have. During the baptism service, you will be required to make promises to bring up your child to understand the Christian Faith. To help you to fulfil these promises the Church of the Good Shepherd provides Praise & Play and Junior Church. Praise & Play is a brief informal service for preschool children and their parents with the aim of introducing children to worship. This is held in church on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 2 pm during term time. Junior Church is held during the main Sunday service at 10 o'clock in the church hall during term time. The aim of Junior Church is to encourage younger members of the local community to move forward in their level of Christian understanding, behaviour, beliefs and knowledge of God.
